Thanks to Maurice Marlow of the UKNIWM
Removed from Greengate in the late 60's due to demolition of the whole area to make way for a new dual carriageway. For a period it was sited at the Lancaster Club, Eccles New Rd, Weaste and then at a tyre repair business on Eccles New Rd. It is said that workmen from Salford Council took the memorial away for restoration. The memorial was discarded as it was deemed beyond economical repair.
